Year of Faith Book Club

Join your friends and colleagues in conversation about two great books
and
the values and faith behind it.

As one way to observe the Year of Faith, faculty, administration, and staff recently gathered for a book discussion of Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion, by Gregory Boyle.  This book won the 2011 PEN Center USA Literary Award for Creative Nonfiction.  Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J. is the founder of Homeboy Industries, a ministry to former gang members in Los Angeles. Faculty and staff—whose opinions varied widely—met November 29 to talk about their impressions of the book. GCU’s Sr. Francesca Holly shared some of the feedback here. Below you’ll find a video of Father Boyle talking about the book:

The next book up for reading is Vatican II: 50 Personal Stories. To secure a copy, contact Johann Vento at X-2381 / ventoj@georgian.edu or Richard Ponton at  ext. 2618 / pontonr@georgian.edu.
